inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States may have
elicited a huge sigh of global relief that included the majority of American
people. In reality, however, nothing  has, or is ever likely to change for
the better with the departure of the criminally insane Donald Trump. This is because
the American malaise is a decades-long and deep-rooted malignancy, and not
simply the consequence of the White House being recently occupied by a
dishonest, racist, sexist, and egoistical imbecile for whom 74,223,744
Americans nonetheless still voted: Americans who shall remain as one of the
serious obstacles to any hope of unifying a nation whose destined decline will
ensure that it shall never be “Great Again” even to the extent of the Chinese

inauguration speech — in the wake of the assault on Capitol Hill for which
Trump is facing impeachment — was suitably measured in pace and tone with the
reminder that it was “time for boldness for there is so much to do. And this is
certain, I promise you. We will be judged, you and I, by how we resolve these
cascading crises of our era. We will rise to the occasion. Will we master this
rare and difficult hour? Will we meet our obligations and pass along a new and
better world to our children? I believe we must and I’m sure you do as well. I
believe we will, and when we do, we’ll write the next great chapter in the
history of the United States of America. The American story.” The writing of
that great chapter in “The American Story,” however, requires something far
more substantial than the hollow words of a Joe Biden, or some other pandering,
puppet politician. It requires to be written by the will, and from the hearts

million — of the entire global stock of 857 million civilian firearms.

Americans have bought nearly
17 million guns so far in 2020, more than in any other single year, according

pandemic, and spiked even higher in the summer, during massive racial justice

AIPAC is wide-ranging and includes assisting with the planning and execution of

House and Senate campaigns to assist in the scheduling of candidate meetings
and facilitating the submission of position papers; Soliciting financial
support for AIPAC’s Annual Campaign; working with colleagues to increase
pro-Israel political participation; researching, gathering, and delivering
information requested by pro-Israel political activists; conducting candidate
meetings; and lobbying for military aid to Israel which is the largest

ethnically cleansing Palestinian people is reflected in his choice of some

Garland for Attorney General; Avril Haines for Director of National
Intelligence; Alejandro Mayorkas for Secretary of Homeland Security; Anne
Neuberger for National Security Agency cybersecurity director; and Janet Yellen
for Treasury secretary.

A
further nail in the coffin of “American democracy” is the pro-Israel influence
over the US media which a study by 416Labs — a Toronto-based
consulting and research firm — showed that US newspapers consistently portray
Palestine in a more negative light than Israel; prioritise, privilege, and
legitimise Israeli sources; and omit vitally important facts — including those
expressed by Palestinian sources — that help to understand the illegal Israeli
occupation. Based on the analysis of nearly a hundred thousand headlines dating
back to 1967 in the top five US dailies — The New York Times, Washington
Post, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, and
the Los Angeles Times — the study examined the frequency of using
certain words evoking a particular view or perception and came up with the
following key conclusions: 

“Since 1967, use of the word
“occupation” has declined by 85% in the Israeli dataset of headlines, and by
65% in the Palestinian dataset; since 1967, mentions of Palestinian refugees
have declined by an overall 93%; Israeli sources are nearly 250% more likely to
be quoted as Palestinians; the number of headlines centring on Israel were
published four times more than those centring on Palestine; words connoting
violence such as “terror” appear three times as much as the word “occupation”
in the Palestinian dataset; explicit recognition that Israeli settlements and
settlers are illegal rarely appears in both datasets; since 1967, mentions of
‘East Jerusalem,’ distinguishing that part of the city occupied by Israel in
1967 from the rest of the city, appeared only a total of 132 times; The Los
Angeles Times has portrayed Palestinians most negatively, followed by The
Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, and
lastly The New York Times; and Coverage of the conflict has reduced
dramatically in the second half of the fifty-year period.”
