To Lana Del Rey, and all artists scheduled at the Meteor Festival

Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel
Please don’t let your music serve to cover up gross violations of human rights and violate the Palestinian picket line. We ask that you cancel your September concert at the Meteor Festival in Israel, and refrain from harming the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice and equality.

There’s no neutrality in situations of injustice. Please stand with us on the right side of history to create a better world for all.
Dear supporter,
At least eight artists have already cancelled their performances at Meteor festival in Israel, scheduled to take place just two weeks from now.
Join us in calling on Lana Del Rey and all remaining artists to withdraw from the festival, over its complicity in Israel’s regime of oppression against Palestinians. [1]

Lana Del Rey is known around the world for her powerful music. And many of the remaining artists booked for Meteor are seen as progressive, political artists.

But Lana Del Rey is insisting it’s ‘not political’ to cross the Palestinian picket line to perform in Israel.
As Israel continues its massacres in Gaza, and passes laws entrenching and formalizing apartheid, Palestinians are calling on international artists to showmeaningful solidarity.
Let’s work together to urge Lana Del Rey and all remaining artists at the festival to withdraw, as an effective contribution to the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice and equality.

It wasn’t so long ago that artists refused to play apartheid South Africa, in response to the call from the Black South African majority.
Likewise, Palestinian civil society, including the absolute majority of artists and cultural organizations, has called since 2004 on artists not to cross our picket line, so as not to undermine our peaceful struggle against Israel’s decades-old oppression.
Lana Del Rey says that ‘many big bands’ are playing Meteor, but with more artists cancelling almost every day, and with your help, this may not be true for long.
Lorde and Shakira are just two of the major artists to cancel their shows in Israel in recent months. With your help, we can add even more names to the growing list of artists who refuse to art-wash Israel’s regime of apartheid and occupation.
