again to resort to the tried and tested alarmist tactic which he first used in
1992 when as a parliamentarian he advised the Israeli Knesset that Iran was
“three to five years” away from reaching nuclear weapons capability, and that
this threat had to be “uprooted by an international front headed by the U.S..”
Then in 1995, despite the lapse of some three years, he again asserted in his
book Fighting Terrorism, that Iran would have a nuclear weapon in “three
to five years” — a warning he repeated in an address to a joint session
of Congress in 1996.

violating with impunity international and human rights law before the U.S.
would finally take positive action that was compatible with its hypocritical
claim to be the hallmark of democracy and human rights.
