Mary Horan and friends would like to thank everyone who supported their recent Cups Against Breast Cancer Coffee Morning.

The event was held in the Scartaglin Heritage Centre at the end of October.

“We would like to thank the local businesses for their support and a huge thank you to all who donated baking and financial contributions for this worthy cause.

A Fine Sum

“We managed to raise €4,640 for the charity and we thank everyone who helped us in any way in doing so,” said Mary.

While little groups like Mary Horan, Caroline Martin and Carol Butler and their friends were doing their thing and raising funds in their own localities, large companies throughout the country were also rowing in behind the Irish Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer.

Official Pink Partners

Some of Ireland’s leading businesses became official Pink Partners of the Society in support of the fight against breast cancer.

These companies joined forces to raise awareness and much needed funds for people affected by breast cancer across Ireland in tandem with Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Action Breast Cancer Programme

All money donated by this year’s generous ‘Pink Partners’ will go to the Irish Cancer Society’s Action Breast Cancer programme which provides breast cancer information and support services to thousands of women and men across Ireland each year.
