http://www.alsharq.de/2011/mashreq/israel/israelisch-griechische-beziehungen-die-griechen-lachen-uns-an-wir-umarmen-sie/

Respekt!!

Greeks march in protest
against Israeli onslaught in Gaza

By Constantine
Venizelos, Press TV, Athens
Fact Corner
Protests continue in Greece against the bombing of Gaza by Israel.
Thousands marched to the Israeli embassy in the capital Athens to express
outrage against the Israeli military offensive, the inhumane violence against
Palestinians and the continued oppression of them.
The
confederation of Greek Civil Servants, opposition parties, activists, students
and the Palestinian community march in their thousands against the escalating
violence in Gaza.
They say
Israel continues to violate international treaties by building illegal
settlements and using disproportionate violence against civilians. This comes
as Palestinian diplomats in Greece also consider the Israeli onslaught as a
desperate attempt by Israel to end its isolation. Despite criticism, the Greek
government has entered a deep strategic, economic and commercial alliance with
Israel in the last four years of the spiralling financial crisis. The UN says
most of the Palestinians killed in Israel’s air strikes on Gaza have been
civilians. The deliberate targeting of the civilian population, a war crime
forbidden by the fourth Geneva convention, to which Israel is a party, is not
going unnoticed in Greece.
